Week 2 notes

I've been busy. Our 2nd Q&A session was great- Reviewed some of the principles of Animation, and got to see everyone again. Going back through The Illusion of Life is great- Maybe I'll be able to read all through it this time around. I'm still pretty jazzed about getting back into animation.

I've been pondering putting together a little stop motion puppet to play with in my free time. I don't know how feasible this is, as I really don't have much free time- but it's definitely something I've been itching to get back into. Check out my friend Mike's production blog, a constant source of inspiration for me.

Here's a link to some high speed videos. Great reference if you're doing effects animation and want a better idea of what is happening in that fraction of a second that something suddenly changes. This was brought up during our lecture as an example of squash and stretch occuring in the natural world- check out the golf ball footage. Great stuff.

After we were done with the Q&A session, I popped in the extras disc from The Incredibles DVD and found this great shot of Bret:
